Crafts from Fiberglass

Indonesian handicrafts are currently a worldwide endeavor.  Many of the works that have been made by craftsmen penetrate the international market.  Therefore, the government continues to make efforts to improve and develop various forms of these handicrafts.  One of them is by holding an exhibition festival for craftsmen all over Indonesia.

Fiberglass is the basic material for making handicrafts, which is derived from glass which is still liquid and then processed into thin fibers.  Then the thin fibers are mixed with resin and catalyst so that it will become a strong material and used for making crafts.

Fiberglass crafts are crafts made using fiberglass as a base material that has been mixed with resin as reinforcement, both clear resin and opaque resin and then processed, and made to form three dimensions that have beautiful artistic value.  So that it provides benefits for the craftsmen.

Kinds of Fiberglass Crafts

Here are some examples of fiberglass crafts that can often be found at ker fairs

1. Fiberglass Craft Accessories

Accessories made of fiber usually use opaque resin.  For example, accessories that can be made from fiber are brooches, key chains, trophies, ashtrays and so on.  To produce crafts from better fiberglass, fiberglass accessories craftsmen usually combine craft-making materials with shells

2. Miniature Fiberglass Crafts

In addition to fiberglass crafts in the form of accessories, there are also fiberglass crafts in the form of miniatures or imitations of an object.  Miniature made of fiberglass is made very neatly, so it looks exactly the same as the original object.  The examples of miniature objects made of fiberglass include tree miniatures, animal miniatures, ship miniatures, airplane miniatures, and so on.

3. Complementary Fiberglass Crafts for Home Buildings

In a craft exhibition, there will also be many examples of complementary models of house buildings made of fiberglass such as door canopies and windows made of fiberglass.  And the shape is also increasingly varied.
